Mindfulness for Chronic Pain

Through its partnership with the NeuroNova Centre and the regional Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) team, Living Well is able to offer the 12 to 13-week Level 1 version of the Mindfulness-Based Chronic Pain Management (MBCPM ™) in southeastern Ontario.

Who Should Take It?

Those living with chronic pain living in the South East LHIN. Those with chronic stress or other mental health conditions such as depression or anxiety may also take the class if they can get around the vocabulary being about pain and are comfortable with attending a group.

FREE – The cost (approx. $200) is covered by the Living Well Program if participants attend at least 6 weeks of the course. If participants are not able to attend half of the sessions, they must return the materials supplied in perfect condition for re-use or purchase them ($97 for book and 4 CDs).

The Level 1 course is offered twice a year; in the spring and in the fall. Participants attend once a week for about 2.5hrs for 12 or 13 weeks.

The Kingston Community Health Centres [] is the main site for the program, where the in-person group with the facilitators takes place. Additional participants from three or four other locations then join the group via OTN.
